Pumpkin time!
Finally in the past week we have started to get in the Halloween spirit. Maggie made me get out the Halloween decorations and we did the first of many I'm sure, Halloween crafts. Daniel was over the other day and they made these masks. As you can see, the coloring styles are just slightly different! : )
Then yesterday we had our neighborhood Halloween party. We are usually the ones to host and we usually do it on Halloween night, but since we will be in sunny Florida then, our kind neighbors across the street stepped up to the plate and took on the challenge. I told the girls that I wasn't really doing costumes this year since we weren't going to be here for trick-or-treating and so they could choose to be anything out of the dress up box downstairs. Maya chose to be Tinkerbell, Maggie chose to wear her Belle costume from last year.
These are a bunch of pictures from the party.
Our new neighbor, Olivia. She's 6 months old and she REALLY enjoyed that pretzel!!!
Here are some of the kids doing a craft...making door hangers.
This is Olivia's big sister, Emma. She's 2 1/2 and also really enjoyed my pretzels!
Maggie's completed door hanger!!!
Here's the hostess, Mary, and Patrick the lion.
These are our new neighbors, Davin and Kate...i.e. Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer.
Lucas was soooooo cute!
The kids played pin the nose on the pumpkin. Maggie got it right on the "nose"!!!
Maggie and a couple of the girls played this ring toss game for about an hour!!!!
This afternoon we headed out to the pumpkin patch. We'd been to this one a couple times before. It was really busy today as the sun was out and it wasn't absolutely freezing! Here the girls are posing in front of a GIANT spider!!!

So proud
Maya has FINALLY started to take an interest in learning her letters and numbers. So far, she knows the letters O and T. Next up is A. Anyways, she and Maggie were sitting at the table coloring the other day and she wrote both letters O and T! She was soooooo proud of herself...and I have to say I was so proud of her too.

Run, run as fast as you can!
This past weekend was the Twin Cities Marathon weekend. Besides the marathon, they also hold a 10 mile, 10K, 5K, 1 mile, 1/2 mile, toddler trot and diaper dash. I ran the 10k - I wasn't really as prepared as I would have liked to have been, so the end of the race was a bit of a challenge. Still, I finished and survived. There are no pictures of me, cuz my race was at 7:30 am and I was sent by myself. : (
Maggie and daddy ran the 1/2 mile race! This was Maggie's first organized race and she did great! They had all the kids split up by grade level so it wasn't so much of a mob scene. She was one of the first kids over the finish line for the K and under group! I asked her if she would want to do it again next year, and she said, "no, I'll be too tired!" : )
Maya was mad that she wasn't able to run too, so she and daddy did a modified "race" down the sidewalk, while Maggie and I cheered with the thundersticks at the "finish line". Next year Maya.
Here we are waiting for Maggie's race to begin. The thundersticks were all ready to go! (Grandma and Grandpa will love this...Maya calls the thunderstics "cougars". All that cheering with the WSU pom poms rubbed off!)

Happy 5th Birthday Maggie!
Our little girl is now the big 5! I can't believe how fast those 5 years went. She is quite the grown up girl!
Since we were in Seattle for her birthday, we had our little family present opening party a few days early before we left for the trip.
Hmmmm....I wonder what it could be?
A new necklace and a whole bunch of rings!
A new book of Disney animal stories!
A super cool fairy jewelry box, complete with the little turning fairy that plays music when you open it.
What could be in this last box?
Yes!!!!! A new 2-wheen scooter!!!!!!
When we were in Seattle, we met up with my best friend Kristin, and her two boys, CJ and Gabriel. CJ's birthday is 2 days after Maggie's, so naturally we headed to Red Robin for lunch where they could be embarrassed by the Red Robin birthday song and get a free birthday sundae!!!!
Needless to say, neither one of them left ANYTHING in the bowl!
Next was the party at Grammy and Poppy's house. Cousins Clara and Owen were there, along with all the great grandpa's and grandma's on the Kelly side. One of the favorite gifts...the bright orange bear-ghost from Great Gram P. and new earings from Grammy!

Blow out the candles!
Thankfully I got out of doing the friend party this year...I think she had plenty of parties - don't you? She's one very lucky little girl. : )
