Pondering Grandmother Willow

This was part of the conversation that Maggie and I had on our way back from dropping everyone off at the airport this afternoon.

A motorcyclist passed us who was NOT wearing a helmet, or even a coat or shirt for that matter.
We discussed the fact that he should be wearing a helmet and why...and what might happen if he were to crash without a helmet on. I said if he were to crash without his helmet he might very well die and then we got on the topic of heaven and God.

Maggie: What does God look like?
Me: I don't know...no one really knows.
Maggie: How come?
Me: Because God isn't a person...he's more like a spirit...kinda like a ghost who's up in heaven.
Maggie: Oh. Kinda like the talking tree in Pocahontas?
Me: Kinda like that I guess.
Maggie: What was the tree's name?
Me: I think it was Grandmother Willow.
Maggie: Oh. Why was her name Grandmother?
Me: Well, she wasn't really a grandmother..it was probably just because she was a very old tree.
Maggie: When our tree gets old will it be a grandmother too?

: )
