O Christmas Tree

The Kelly Christmas tree is has been up and ready ever since the day after Thanksgiving. Maggie helped me decorate it, as did grandma and grandpa since they were here visiting. Maggie was actually a good little helper, holding the lights for me and putting a lot of the ornaments on. I have to say it looks pretty good!

At school last week, the kids came one day to a BIG suprise! A gingerbread house was blocking the doorway! They had to crawl through the house to get into their room! A gum drop path even led the way to the front door of the gingerbread house.

Peek-a-boo! So fun! She had her little Christmas show at school last week as well. The kids were dressed as parts of the Nativity. Maggie was a shephard (by her request). They sang a bunch of songs with the theme, Christmas Around the World, which is also the theme of their classroom this year. They did a super job and of course were looking so cute!!!! Right now, she is at the gym with her team mates having their holiday party which entails running around the gym like chickens with their heads cut off, and then tomorrow is the little preschool Christmas program at church. Busy, busy, busy!

Potty talk

Maya seems to march a little bit to the beat of her own drum...especially in the bathroom. Her potty habits for one thing...

...need I say more.

Disney - Day 6

I know this trip has come and gone, but I've been a blogging slacker lately and haven't gotten the chance to get the final group of pictures up - so here they are. Our final day was spent at Magic Kingdom. We danced in a parade on Main Street, tricked Maggie into going on Splash Mountain and zipped around the park going on all our favorite rides one last time.

When we got to Disney, it was all decorated for Halloween...by the time we left it was fully decked out for Christmas!
Poppy, Daddy and girls.

Man was it bright out!

Daddy just had to have a few pictures in front of Christmas trees.

Wreaths and garland everywhere!

Here comes the parade!

Mickey, Donald and the gang!

Even Goofy!

This is the float the stopped closest to us. The Jungle Book characters were all there!

Daddy, Poppy and the girls dancin' in the street!

Oh no...the dreaded Splash Mountain. We had to trick Maggie into going on this one. When she found out halfway through the line to the ride, she was NOT very happy about it. She hated it, I'm sure mostly because she was dreading the end the whole way through!

This is a picture of the picture we had taken going dow the big "drop" at the end. Aaron is in the back with his hands up, and Grammy, Maggie and I are in the seat in front of him. Mags is hard to see because she is totally sardined in between me and Grammy holding on for dear life! : )

The Barnstormer rollercoaster in Toon Town was the girls' favorite ride. They even got to ride in a seat all by themselves. They thought they were hot stuff!

They even got "frequent flyer" cards from the workers!

Maya and Grammy on the people mover.

Daddy and Mags taking a picture of themselves.

Mommy and Maya tried it too!

Poppy stood in line at Ariel's Grotto and the girls got to meet Ariel up close and personal!

Trying on hats while we were waiting for Maya's "ears" to be embroidered.

Finally done!

I guess all videos go to the bottom of the post. This is one of the parades we saw. I think it was a "block party" of sorts. All the floats stopped on Main Street and the characters got off, pulled people out into the street and had a dance party!

Disney Days 3, 4 and 5

Day 3 - Animal Kingdom

We got to Animal Kingdom mid-morning and went straight to get in line for the Lion King show! We were just a little bit early, so we found Thumper and Mrs. Bunny, and Minnie Mouse to get pictures with first!

The Lion Kings show is AWESOME by the way. Maya loved it...especially the "monkeys" who were male gymnasts doing trampoline, high bar and the trapeze. : )

After the show we went straight to the dinosaur ride. I believe we those were triceratops that they were riding in.

This gigantic brontosaurus towered above the dinosaur section of the park.

Grammy had ice cream with the girls while Poppy, Daddy and I went on the Expedition Everest ride. So fun!

That day we decided to rent a stroller. We forgot ours at home (like in Minnesota home), and the girls had done really well for 2 days without one, so we thought we'd give them a break. They decided to bring their Disney figurines I got them as a gift. They were a life saver, especially for Maya who often had to wait in the stroller while everyone else did big kid stuff.

Ooooh...a fan favorite...the Nemo ride. We went for a ride in these clamshells and watched Nemo story as we went by. This was Maya's favorite.

After the Nemo ride ends, you end up in a huge aquarium. This shark of course was not real, but it was fun to take a picture in its mouth!
Day 4 - Epcot
Epcot is probably the lease kid friendly of the 4 Disney parks, but we did manage to find Jasmine and Aladdin and get a picture with them!

I think this is on the ride in the Norway country section of the parade of nations. She did not like the dark rides.

This giant troll was waiting for us when we got off the ride. The hats were too cute!
Day 5 - Hollywood Studios
This was a fun day. First you walk in and see Mickey's giant sorcerers hat from Fantasia! It's really cool looking at night too when it's all lit up.
We got this same picture 2 years ago with the girls. They both loved the Ariel show.

After the show we caught several characters taking pictures real close together...so we got in line! Hi Donald Duck!

Tigger and Eyore.

And of course Minnie!

One of the shows we waited for all day was Beauty and the Beast. It's like an awesome Broadway production. Maya couldn't wait!

Walking through Hollywood Studios with Gram and Pops!

If I remember correctly these giant popcicles were called Whatsitkadoodles. Yup, I'm pretty sure that was it. : )

Heading to another line with a tired little monkey.

Sully and Mike from Monsters Inc. Maya did not want to get to close to Mike and his huge eyeball.

Hollywood Studios was all decorated for Christmas by the time we got there. Aaron wanted to take a picture under the Xmas tree...
