Spring has sprung

Finally - I think the sun is here to stay. It was almost 80 yesterday and I have a lovely farmers tan (burn actually) to prove it. It's like everyone has come out of hibernation. Kids are out, bikes are out, and the playground is open for business. I even busted out a pair of shorts today. But, there are rumblings of snow this weekend. Pray it isn't so!!!!

Today we went to the gym and then hit the library for some new books. Daddy really didn't like "Noodle Man, Pasta Superhero" so we had to take that one back and got some better selections.

Maggie wore her flip flops and super spinning dress today and is currently sleeping in it. She's pretty excited because she talked me into buying cheesy crackers at Sam's Club yesterday. She ate half the box for her snack today. Maya can now sign for more and is learning thank you. She still doesn't pronunciate anything and you can hardly understand the few things she does say - the whining is out of control. Good thing she's cute as a button. : )

Sunshine and jellies

The past few days it has finally felt like spring. We even got upt to 69 degrees one day! Maggie decided that her and Maya NEEDED to wear dresses...and jellies!!!!

Maya and I are finally starting to feel better. I tasted food for the first time yesterday...I hadn't tasted anything in about 4 days. Yum yum! Maya finally woke up talking and sitting up, instead of whimpering and laying curled up in her crib. We're all coughing but we can deal with that. Somehow, Aaron never got any part of this. Good thing...he's a bigger baby than the rest of us put together!! : )

This morning we got up and went to the Red Giraffe to listen to a book about turtles and we got to make a turtle craft too. Then we played on the toys for a little bit before coming home. Megan and Lily are spending the day with us tomorrow. Brian's out of town and Becky has to work. So...we'll see how that goes with 4 kids for most of the day!

Right now Maya's napping and Mags and I are watching Alice In Wonderland, and I'm getting a little sleepy. I think I'll lay down on the couch. : )

Maya's clear, sparkly jellies.
Maggie's rainbow jellies...but tragedy struck and the buckle broke on these yesterday. We took them back and she chose plain-old pink jellies instead - these are history!
The girls givin' loves on the kitchen floor.

More sickies

Well, just when we thought the sickness was gone, it reared its ugly head again. Maya was a wreck all day yesterday, sleeping I think 21 hours. She threw up a couple of times in the morning and was just limp as a noodle for most of the day...Mags was fine. Today, Mags woke up and said her tummy hurt, so we proceeded to the bathroom and she threw up (in the toilet though...victory!). She layed around for about a half hour and then has been fine. We need them both to be better so we can go out tomorrow night!!!!

Mags and I made cookies this afternoon. Lowfat chocolate chip. Very tasty I must say. They don't taste low fat at all! I think I've already eaten 4 of them. So much for the low fat I guess. : ) Here are some pictures from the last week or so.

Mags and Jacob had a sleepover. Yes, Jacob is wearing Maggie's pink princess PJs. He wore them all night.

Maya wearing the ladybug costume.

Cheese!

Watching Mommy and Maggie making cookies, desperately wanting to be in on the action!

Sickies

Last night was a nightmare. Maya woke up about 9:00 and had thrown up all over herself and her crib. So, into the tub she went and into the washing machine went all the sheets and blankets. Got her back to bed and, no joke, not 3 minutes later we heard her again. She stunk to high heaven, but we decided to just do a wipe down instead of throwing her into the tub again. Into the washing machine went the sheets. Got her back down again, 10 minutes later, she'd thrown up again. This time the stench coming from her hair was overwhelming, so we just laid her on our laps over the tub and washed her hair. Into the washing machine went the towel that was in her bed because we were out of crib sheets. And so it went for about an hour and a half. Then, around 11:30, Maggie called out for me. She too had thrown up...more stuff than I'd ever seen. So, she got a good wipe down and the sheets went into the washing machine. I did 2 loads of laundry after I went to bed last night and they included pretty much every sheet and towel in the house! It was pretty nasty. Luckily Mags only puked that one time and Maya settled back down and made it the rest of the night. They were ok today...just a little tired. We got up this morning and had a bath to get the remaining stinkies off and then were good to go.

On a lighter note, we got the Invisible Fence fixed today. It was only broken in one spot where Aaron ran the airator over it last fall. Apparently there was a rock in the ground and the line lay right across it, making it not as deep as the rest of the line. Aaron must have hit it just right.

Possibly a rather large snow storm coming as early as tomorrow. NO MORE SNOW!!!!!!!

Monday O Monday

The snow has melted and we had a beautiful weekend. 66 degrees on Saturday...I even got a little sunburn! Aaron finally unwrapped the grill and we BBQ'd some burgers on Friday. Saturday was gorgeous and so we decided to have another BBQ instead of bible study. Both of the girls were tanked from playing outside all day and were whining and crying the whole time, but what'dya do? Last night and this morning it was back to snow. Just flurries thankfully...the grass is still green. Bella has been a bit under the weather (maybe she ate something nasty on our walk around the lake??) and has not been her regular annoying self. It has been a pleasant break. Yesterday Aaron and I had a date night. He took me to the American Burger Emporium, then to Horton Hears a Who. Nothin' fancy, but was nice to get out. Becky watched the girls and took Maggie "to the cleaners" in Dora Memory. I took everyone "to the cleaners" tonight in Go Fish. : ) No one liked my dinner tonight - Tuna Noodle Cassarole. I knew no one would eat it, but I made it anyway cuz I like it. As I'm typing this, Aaron is eating 2 Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches and a glass of orange juice. The NCAA basketball game is on, but I could care less about it, so I think I'll go to bed. Gotta get up for Ball Busters at the gym tomorrow morning. : )

Just when you thought it was spring...

Well, we are now, once again, coated in snow. We had quite the spring snow storm yesterday...ending up with about 6 inches, but they said that for every inch of snow, there was a half an inch of rain, or something crazy like that. Basically it snowed very heavily for about 12 hours. It is really wet and heavy (heart attack snow), but everything on the driveways and streets melted today so that's good.

We are finally unpacked and back to the grind after getting back from Seattle. Mags started a new swimming session with a new teacher last week, and Maya is up to her old shananagans. We finally set up the pack-n-play for time outs, and she got her first one today. She didn't like it very much either so I guess it worked. Yesterday she pulled out a handful of Maggie's hair (I'm not exaggerating), and was beating her over the head with a naked Ariel barbie doll. Not stellar behavior. She's also learned to say "no" and does so for basically anything you ask her. And, she can now get down the stairs by herself...as we learned when I forgot to lock the gate and we found her at the bottom of the stairs safe and sound. Go figure. I also found out she can do lots of animal sounds...dog, cat, cow, chicken, duck, horse. Who knew?!

Today we went to the library and checked out a few books, and then to the ritzy grocery store around the corner, where Maggie got to push her own sized cart. What could be better? Daddy was brave tonight and let Maya sit at the table in a big girl chair and booster seat for dinner and I must say, did suprisingly well. She used her fork and didn't throw any food until the very end of the meal...and Bella only ended up with one small piece of bread.

Daddy and the girls ready for a walk.

Having fun at the beach!

Maya is obsessed with Maggie's panties. Everytime she goes into Maggie's room, she makes a B-line for the underwear drawer and proceeds to pull the out and throw the all over the room...so a few days ago, I just decided to put a pair on...yes there's a diaper under there. Think she's ready for the potty yet??? : )

Sitting at the table like a big girl!! And yes, I'm pretty sure that's the piece of bread that Bella ended up with!

Maya and Lily, best buddies, chillin' out reading books.
