A quick funny...

Maggie: Mom, I just went potty and I talked to God.

Mommy: Oh, what did you talk to God about?

Maggie: I asked him for a trampoline!!!

Mommy: Well, I don't know about that.

Maggie: Yes, I prayed for it!

The last week or so...

Sorry, I have been a bad blogger recently. The truth is that there really hasn't been much going on and there hasn't really been fun and exciting things to talk about or take pictures of. So, here is the last week or two, boring or not.

Maya got a haircut. We cut off all the "scragglies" as I called them. It looks REALLY cute! Plus the shirt she is wearing is extra cute to which adds to the overall cuteness! : )

Uh, yeah...I don't really have an explanation for this one. And yes, that is a swimsuit cover up she is wearing.

A couple days last week were absolutely beautiful...and really warm! The girls wanted to color out on the deck so we got out the little portable tables that Santa brought them for Christmas and colored, then used them for lunch tables. We got so hot we had to come inside though. : )

These are called Magic Nuudles (I think that's how you spell it). I found them at JoAnn's and they are really cool. They are like packing peanuts basically, but you just touch them to a wet sponge and they stick to each other. You can build whatever you want! The girls had a great time making towers and flowers and other cool creations.
Maggie making a flower.

Today, Daniel was over so we did some potato stamping for a project. I cut out the potato designs and the kids went to town stamping on their papers.

No painting project is complete without a little paint on the hands.

Daniel working hard stamping the special "sword" stamp I made just for him.

So many colors, so little time.

And, last but not least, Maya's new trick of the week. What will she come up with next week I wonder???

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! Daddy is gone in Seattle, but we still carried on with the usual Easter activities. Yesterday we had a "Cove" egg hunt which was lots of fun. It was the first time the girls had an egg hunt, not counting the practice hunts we did earlier this week.

Maya finding her very first egg!

Egg number 2!
Maya opening egg number 2 and spilling all the jelly beans on the grass.

Maya looking for the content of egg number 2 that were buried in the grass and shoveling them into her mouth when she found them.

Maggie gathering her eggs.

Mmmm...chocolate!

Sitting down and seeing what we got!

All the "Cove" egg hunters!

This morning after finding where the Easter Bunny hid their baskets! Maggie came up to the bedroom this morning with her basket and said "Mom, I wonder who put all this stuff in here?"

Showing Maya her bunny Pez.

After breakfast we FINALLY got around to dying eggs. I was praying that I wouldn't end up with a blue table, chair and kitchen floor like last year!!!

Mags getting the hang of things.

Putting eyes and mouths on the eggs after they dried.

Every egg had to be decorated just so!

Here's all the crazy characters after they were all done!

I finally figured out how to upload a video! I don't know what I was doing wrong before, but it worked just fine this time.
The sun finally came out yesterday and the girls ran around in the backyard like this for at least a half an hour. We ended up with grass stained tights and muddy kneed jeans, but it was worth it!!

Our trip to Seattle

We had a wonderful week in Seattle. We spent time with both families, saw all the aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, most of the great-grandparents, along with a couple of old friends. The time flew by and the girls were spoiled rotten, but we wouldn't have it any other way!

Waiting in line at the airport.

Maya thought she was the Queen Bee with her very own rolling backpack!

We went to a christian children's concert by Jana Alayra at Grammy and Poppy's church. It was GREAT!!! She sang some very cute songs and did basic sign language with each that all the kids followed along with and tried to do themselves.

The girls even got to go up on the stage during one of the songs!

Poppy had a good time too.

Of course we had to stop at McDonald's for ice cream afterwards with cousins Clara and Owen.

A trip to the Alderwood Mall. They had this really cute play area with a "northwest" theme...seagulls, ferry boat, whales, etc. The kids had a blast climbing and running around.

After playing, we headed over to Build-A-Bear. Mags and Clara got matching Easter lambs.

Playing with Grammy.

We also took a trip to a GREAT children's museum, the Imagine Museum in Everett. It is much smaller than ours in St. Paul, but very hands on and very clever. We'd been there a couple times before, but they had a great time once again.
This exhibit was a vet clinic. Mags is checking out this poor, sick animal.

Dr. Maggie checking the food dish of yet another poor animal.

Pretending to be flying high on a simulated airplane complete with real airplane seats with seatbelts and a real looking cockpit, flight attendants kitchen and cargo hold.
Fire woman Maya!

This was the "Construction Zone". It was really cool. There were all these pieces like the ones you see in the picture that the kids could build into all sorts of things. Some clever kids even built little go-cart like cars that you could sit on.

Clara and Maggie on a mission.
